I've Been Busy

Mom's Note: Rascal seems to be doing pretty well on the prednisolone. Some days he's himself, demanding and fussy as ever. Other days he doesn't seem to feel all that well. Some days he'll eat well and put on a few ounces. Other days he's not that interested in eating. About a month ago, Dr. C gave him one to two months. On the days he's doing well it seems like he'll live forever. Other days we worry and pamper. He loves going outside and has been catching shrews, chipmunks, and today a squirrel. We just try to treasure every moment with him, and hope he will prove Dr. C. wrong.

Rascal, I am glad you are keeping busy. It is hard to know those things. We know that with our cats who failed slowly it was difficult to watch and wonder. All we can say is that we tried to enjoy the good days and worry as little as possible on those that weren't so good (remembering always those gifts of fantastic days that we had had so recently)
Rascal, You look like a Cat with a mission. May you have much time yet to hunt and nap.

We hope that Rascal has many, many good days of hunting and other kitty business ahead!
Smoochies to him and to you!
I'm so glad to hear that you're taking this critter hunting business seriously Rascal. You have to stick around so that your folks new house doesn't get over run.
You are so lucky to have fun things to keep you busy! I'm glad to hear you're doing well, too. Keep it up!

Mouse hunting is fun! We are purring for you Rascal.
I recently came across your blog, Rascal, and have enjoyed reading your story and catching up. You're one special and loved kitty. You're in our hearts. . .Ken and Mary of Fancy Fibers (P.S. our cantankerous 16-year old calico cat, Mollie, sends her regards)
I think Rascal has the same kind of spirit my Oscar did, he lived well and loved every moment until just the last few days, I knew his time was coming about a week ahead, he admitted it in the final 2 days and went round and said goodbye to all his favourite places before retreating under the bed to his comfort spot. It was not a bad way end to a long life. I think getting him to the vet for an injection only took about 24 hours off his natural span, his was ready to leave us and I had to release him.
Enjoy the time you have, may the sun keep shining for Rascal in these last days, I'm sure he'll hang on as long as he wants and let you know when he's had enough.
Hi Rascal. You're looking good, my friend, and we are glad you're keeping busy. We are purring and praying that you, your mom and your whole family have lots more days together...
Oh, dear, how did we miss such important posts? We wondered how Rascal is doing but we haven't been getting around as much as we'd like to visit friends.
