How I Got My Name
Boots tagged Me for the "How I Got My Name" meme. If you have had the chance to read "My Story", then you know that my family wanted a Cat and picked Me out from a litter of kittens. I was easy to pick out because I was the only kitten that met Dad's requirements: I was male and I didn't hiss. Naming Me wasn't as easy. My humans finally decided to write ideas on the marker board in the kitchen. There were four of them then: Dad, Mom, The College Kid (who wasn't in college then,) and Piano Girl. Not only did everyone get to write names on the marker board, but anyone could erase a name too if they didn't like it. I remained nameless for quite a few days. Finally only one name was left, Rascal. And that's how I got my name.
Now, I tag Gemini, Neelix and Sinda.

I really like your name. I think that if my name were Rascal, I could get away with being mischevious much more often. How could The Lady tell me no if she named me Rascal? You are one lucky kitty.

That's very cool how you got your name Rascal.
For our dog we saw her picture on the shelter's website. She had the name Sue Lee. DD & I didn't like that name, but wanted something that sounded pretty similar to not confuse her too much. DD picked out Lilly. The guy at the shelter loved the name so much that he switched her name immediately even though we couldn't pick her up for 3 days until she had been spade.
Now she will come when you call her anything. LOL! Wolfies are like that.

That's a great way to get a name. In fact, our Lady's human sister is doing that same thing to name the baby boy she's having in November. Her 4 year old daughter has already added 3 names to the list: Unicorn, Light and Orange. She's a little nutty.
