White Cat Report

Mom talked to our neighbor who also works in the office here. It turns out that the White Cat belongs to someone who lives in another building. However, they won't let him inside.

So he's very scruffy and dirty. He is not skin and bones, but is usually hungry for both food and affection. He fights with a big ginger and white who also lives nearby and who usually wins. You can see the boo-boo on top of his head from fighting. His ears are all chewed up too.

Someone in our building put a bowl out for him and it is usually has Cat food in it. Sometimes it is empty so Mom fills it. Whenever the White Cat sees Mom coming he runs to greet her and asks to be petted and fed.

Mom doesn't think that this is a very good way to take care of a Cat and I agree. Personally I don't wish to get friendly with him, and Mom agrees we can't have another Cat inside. At least he officially has some humans and perhaps they do love him in their own way. Even so, Mom's going to keep an eye on him.

This makes me so sad. I cannot understand how people can "own" such a beautiful cat and not take care of him. Thank you for visiting my blog. I will add you to my links.

Such a lovely cat and they leave him ourside? If this happens in Malaysia, he would have been catnapped already!

Oh, what a beautiful cat. But we understand about not being able to take another cat. It is good that your Mom looks out for it, and fills it's bowls though.

I don't understand some people. All animals need a den. Domesticated animals do not know how to make a very good den by themselves...'cuz we provide those dens for them. It just gets me so mad when people get animals and then make them stay outside.

I'm glad your mom is helping take care of this very pretty kitty.

I did that. I understand the thinking. First you get extra food and then you adopt the one who is nicest. Yes, I have done that... I warn you Rascal, expect to have a white cat in a few years.

don't let the White Cat hear this first part, but he really needs a good bath. then a good brushing and lots of cuddling and some good food and treats and a new forever home. poor sweet kitty - we vote yes to stealing him.

your a wonderful person to help the white kitty. it is sad when people want a pet but don't take care of it. perhaps they would be willing to let him go to someone who does want him?

Okay Rascal, you've been hugged. There is a hug fest going on started by Mu Shue and I'm hugging you. You now get to go hug four other cats.

I'm furry sad for the white cat. No one should have such a neglectful "owner" as he seems to have. Sigh. He deserves so much better. It's good that your momma is lookin' out for him.

My OTW says, you know, in a lot of places I'm pretty sure that counts as 'abandoned'. And then she muttered some words I only meow when I'm really annoyed.

Napping for comments? I didn't know we needed an excuse for napping!

Poor, poor White Kitty. You can tell by his expression that what he really wants is to be loved.

What a lovely cat. It is terrible that it doesnt have a good furrever home. Momma feels bad, she says all kitties should have good homes. She is glad your Momma is watching out for the white cat.

Long years ago I semi-stole a pretty meezer mix. I made friends with a kitty I thought was a stray, and she moved in with me. I eventually found out that the 'official' owner got the cat dumped on him by his girlfriend. He hadn't wanted her (the cat, not the girlfriend), and only took her to keep her from the pound. He refused to let her into the apartment to save paying the pet deposit. He was fine with me keeping the kitty.

Not saying the same thing is going on here, but I suspect something similar is happening.

If you don't want to kitty-nap White Cat directly, how about putting a collar on him and seeing what happens? If nothing else, this might get the 'official owner' a bit more involved.

Thanks for your sympathy over my "weekend of starvation" trauma. I'm just checking back into the blogosphere after spending 4 days eating non-stop to make up for it!

We understand this situation. Poor baby needs a home, but when you have multiple kitties already at home, it's so hard to say yes-- and no. We're sending purrs to White Kitty!
