A New Scratching Post

Mom bought a new scratching post. She didn't think Dad would like Catzee doing the claw thingy on the couch and Catzee didn't understand to use the old rug which I use. So Mom got a do-it-yourself, easy assembly, Catnip scented, kind of scratching post.

First we had to inspect it:

Then we had to decide whose it was:

Then we had to figure out how to play with it:

I showed off what I thought:

While Catzee ate the free bug that came with it:

So whose is it?

This Cat's?

Or this Cat's?

A note to everyone from Rascal's Mom:

I was so excited that Rascal was actually playing here; something he hasn't done much of for several months. I don't know if it's been because of being confined to the house (as we don't live in a cat-safe area at this time and he's not allowed out anymore), or because his ears had been bothering him, but this incident did my heart good.

Thank you to everyone who has tried to comment on Catzee's blog. The issues are between Blogger's old and new formats. Something we'll all have to live with until they make the switch.

I figured out how to comment on blogs that blogger won't let us. It wouldn't let me on Rocky's blog so I tried it as "Anonymous" (sorry Anonymous, I didn't mean to steal your identity, I just borrowed it) and signed my name "Rascal." It worked! Blogger was fooled and Rocky got my message.

How fun, we have that kind, but Rhett ate off the PomPom the first day, brothers are such a pain.
Have fun!

I think it's clearly your's, Rascal, since you knew what it was and what to do with it. Catzee, bless her soul, had no clue which demonstrates to me that you are the thinker between the two of you.

Of course, you being in the house first surely means that anything that comes into the house automatically belongs to you since you were there first. That logic seems more sound.

Wendy sent me here today, but you know I would have come anyway!

LOL Rascal! MY four kitties have a $200, 4 tier scratching post -- and still we have ONE kitty that insists on using my livingroom couch for her scratching post! I'm SURE you and Catzee are of a higher intelligence though! :)

Wendy Wings sent me over to inspect the new toy!

Hi Rascal, Do you think motorcycles are like cats, we both are running in circles (LOL). Wendy sent me this way, but I like looking at your pictures and the fun you are having. That is cool that you have a ball at the top of your scratching post the same color as my motorcycle. Keep up the good work!!

So, there isn't any sharing about this? Couldn't you both use it? I know, it's too much to hope for....Well, I'll let you guys figure it all out! And thanks for your visit to me and to Sweetie!

And you are right my dear Rascal....those Hills are NOT friendly at all to cats...and dangerous to some degree to people, too, but not as dangerous as they are to kitty's....That is why Sweetie doesn't go out in them thar hills! Too many scary animals that could snatch him up for their dinner, you know? H is very happy looking at those hills from afar, believe me! And you would be, too! (lol)

What a great new toy! I need to get a new scratchy thing of some sort for my kitties. Your's and Catzee's looks very cool and has a toy on top to boot!

Way back when I had kitties, we would make our own scratching posts. They worked out very nice and we could even match the carpet in our rooms (since it was made with the carpet scraps.) So each kitty had their own post.

I don't think you need to share...just whomever needs to give it a scratch, gives it a scratch. No big deal.

Who's scratching post is it? Huh? Huh?!

Rascal, I have to say you look dashing as ever leaned so nonchalantly up against that post.
