Everyone has weighed in with their opinions. The results have been tallied and here is the answer to the question:
Is Rascal overweight?
No - 29 votes (courtesy of the Cat & Bunny Blogging Community)
Yes - 1 vote (by Quacks whose only motive is to sell diet cat food)
As you can see, the Quacks were wrong!
Besides, technically speaking (thank you Zeus) I am taller and longer than many Cats. So obviously I shouldn't be judged according to some silly chart. Plus, as Patches pointed out, it's really the camera's fault.
I have been comforted by my friends. If Mom tries to put me on a diet, I'll threaten to go move in with Grr, Midnight, and Cocoa.
But until then, all is right in my world once again.

after all that, we don't fink that your mommy would put you on a d-i-e-t. 'asides, our v-e-t saided that all male kitties that has hadded "the oper-way-shun" has pooches. even though grampa norton nefurr weighed more than 7 lbs when he was alive, he still hadded a pooch.

Mom hasn't said anything about a d-i-e-t but I've noticed that she's not been giving me as many treats as she used to.

Oh you are not fat. Why do humans think if we are a pound or two overweight that we're fat? They have some serious image issues.

Rascal - you look pretty sleek to us! Mommakitty says we have "poochy" bellies - we don't know why, but the vet said it was OK. Hope you don't have to go on a diet!
We fink you look very sleek in your picher.Our mum meshurred our tummies an she said Flynn was still streamline wiv an 18 inch waist an he still weighs 13 lbs. Uh oh, when she did me it was a different story. My waist is 21 inches an I've put on a pound. I'm 21 lbs now. She said breakfast and supper will be as usual, but the all day crunchies haf to go. I'm finking of leaving home.It's her fault I put on weight cos they left us locked up an I didn't haf anyfing else to do but eat an sleep.
You can always come and live with us. Momma loves black cats, well, she loves all cats, lets face it.
Momma says we are both getting way too heavy. I think she means Mittens, but doesn't want to single her out. She is a tad touchy.
